The Alliance for a Healthy Kansas announces a community forum regarding the expansion of KanCare to be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 26 in the McPherson Museum Gathering Hall, 1111 E. Kansas Ave.

According to the Alliance, more than 150,000 Kansans currently fall into a health coverage gap.

“These are hard working men and women here in Kansas who are stuck with few options for affordable health coverage,” the alliance states. “Expanding KanCare is a fiscally responsible Kansas-based solution that will cover them and bring hundreds of millions of federal tax dollars back home to Kansas — helping create jobs, protect rural hospitals and improve the health of Kansans.”

The forum will include speakers representing a wide variety of groups sharing how the community would be impacted by this expansion including civic groups, clinics, health providers, the faith community, and a representative of the alliance.

The public is invited to participate in this free forum. Walk-ins are welcome, but people may register in advance by going to and click on the McPherson event link.
