Don Ferguson of Lindsborg will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m., on Sunday, Sept. 12. The event will take place at the Lindsborg Senior Center, 116 S. Main Street. The honoree was born on Sept. 14, 1920, in Westmoreland, Kan. He moved to the Freemount community in 1928 with his parents and siblings. On Oct. 20, 1950, he was united in marriage to Ellen Marie Larson. She passed away Sept. 16, 1999. Don and Ellen Marie farmed in the Freemount community until retirement in 1988, when they moved to Lindsborg. Don's son, David, will host the event. The honoree requests no gifts.
