Rebekah Johnson of McPherson and Ransom Hawthorne of Tuscon, Ariz., were united in marriage March 27, 2010, at the McPherson Free Methodist Church.
Zach Fleming officiated the service. Sylvia Wolcott was the pianist for the service and Lindsey Shaw was the vocalist.
The bride was escorted by her father and wore a white, satin, A-line gown with a chapel train and light bead work on the bodice. She carried a bouquet of daisies, wheat and an assortment of blue and white flowers hand-tied with a green ribbon.
Sarah Johnson, from McPherson and sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Barbara Wiard, Amanda Rush, both from McPherson and friends of the bride, Lindy Banning, from Florence and friend of the bride and Hope Hawthorne, from Tuscon, Ariz., and sister to the groom, were bridesmaids.
They wore blue, satin dresses with white sashes.
Jeremy Shoemaker, from Flagstaff, Ariz., and friend of the bride, was the best man. Isaac Bickford from Flagstaff, Ariz., and friend of the groom, Ben Jones of San Jose, Calif., and friend of the groom, and Steven VanDerHart, from Waterloo, Iowa, and friend of the groom, were groomsmen.
Ushers were Nick Johnson, from McPherson and brother of the bride, Doug Jackson from Hutchinson and friend of the couple, Willie Hurl from McPherson and friend of the couple, and Josh Norman, from Wichita and friend of the couple. Liz Johnson, sister-in-law of the bride of McPherson, and Jackie Cowan, friend of the couple, were candle lighters.
A rehearsal dinner was held at Central Christian College on March 26 and was hosted by Loren and Susan Hawthorne.
A reception was held at the Free Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Christine Shaw and Amanda Shaw, cousins of the bride of McPherson, were guest book attendants.
Following a wedding trip to Branson, Mo., the couple is at home in McPherson.
Rebekah is the daughter of Jeff and Karolyn Johnson of McPherson.
She is a graduate of McPherson High School and Central Christian College.
Ransom is the son of Loren and Susan Hawthorne of Tuscon, Ariz..
He is a graduate of Pusch Ridge Christian Academy in Tuscon, Ariz., and Central Christian College.
