Carlos Lima and Jackie Steffes, both of Kansas City, Mo., were united in marriage July 11, 2009, at Overland Park First Assembly of God.
Michel Borchardt, brother-in-law of the groom, officiated the service.

Candle lighters were Samantha Fox and Gigi Borchardt, nieces of the bride and groom. Flower girls were Danielle Fox and Sophia Borchardt, nieces of the bride and groom.
Carlos is the son of Decio and Marilda Lima of Olathe. He is the grandson of Hilda Spiller and the late Oscar Spiller, Rio Claro, Brazil, and the late Milton and Derce Lima, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Carlos attended Tauernhof Bible School in Schladming, Austria, Kingfisher Bible School in Leptokarya, Greece, and graduated in 2005 from Olathe East High School. He attended Columbia College in Chicago. He is employed by McCoy’s in Westport, Mo., and is a self-employed photographer.
Jackie is the daughter of Steve and Gena Steffes of McPherson. She is the granddaughter of Don Steffes and the late Jane Steffes, McPherson. Barbara Eberle and the late Robert Eberle, McPherson.
She is a 2004 graduate of McPherson High School. Jackie attended the University of Kansas and received her cosmetology license from Regency Cosmetology School. She is employed at Hair in Westport, Mo.
Following a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is at home in Kansas City, Mo.
