Kenneth W. Goering will celebrate the 80th birthday milestone on March 9, 2010. He was born in McPherson on March 9, 1930, and grew up in McPherson, Burns, Moundridge and Elyria as one of seven children. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1948.
Ken owned the Firestone Store in Moundridge for a number of years and then found his calling selling cars. He worked for Midway in Moundridge and for Wallace Chevrolet in McPherson. He and his, wife Dorothy, purchased the former Consolidated Motors in McPherson and renamed it Ken Goering Motors. Ken knew cars inside and out and really enjoyed the many customers who wouldn’t buy a car from anyone but Ken.
Ken retired from the “Motors” and devoted full-time to another great love, playing cards. He attained Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League. Besides bridge, Ken also loves Rook, Pinnochle and other games. Ken currently resides at Memorial Home in Moundridge. He would love receiving cards and well wishes from his many friends, customers and relatives.
