Tyler Steffes and BriAnn Smith, both of Topeka, were united in marriage Nov. 7, 2009, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.
The service was officiated by Fr. John Schmeidler.
Maid of honor was Ashley Smith, cousin of the bride, Topeka. Bridesmaids were Jessica Evinger, Topeka, Courtney Howard, Kansas City, Katie Rabe, Lawrence, and Jackie Lima, sister of the groom, Kansas City, Mo. Best man was Lance Benson, Meridian, Miss. Groomsmen were Adam Young, Olathe, Jeremiah Nelson, Kansas City, Mo., Luke Mitchell, Overland Park, and Tyler Smith, brother of the bride, Kansas City, Mo.
Flower girls were Claire Smith, niece of the bride, and Min-Hee.
Ring bearer was Han Johnson.
Candle lighters were Erin Smith, sister-in-law of the bride, Lawrence, and Stephanie Thomas, Kansas City, Mo.
Ushers were Justin Smith, brother of the bride, Lawrence, and Evan Smith, brother of the bride, McLouth.
Tyler is the son of Steve and Gena Steffes, McPherson. He is the grandson of Don Steffes and late Jane Steffes, McPherson, and Barbara Eberle and the late Robert Eberle, McPherson.
Tyler graduated from McPherson High School in 2002 and received his degree in Political Science from the University of Kansas in 2007. He is employed with Social and Rehabilitation Services in Topeka as a Human Services Specialist.
BriAnn is the daughter of Steve and Amy Smith, McLouth. She is the granddaughter of John and Clarann Smith, Topeka, and Vic and Mary Claeys, St. George.
BriAnn graduated from McLouth High School in 2005 and received her degree in Applied Behavioral Science, with a specialty in early education autism intervention, from the University of Kansas in 2008. She is a community psychiatric support and treatment case manager at Family Service and Guidance Center in Topeka.
Tyler and BriAnn are at home in Topeka.
