CANTON — Elyria Christian School has the luxury of a deep bench — something Canton-Galva High School does not.

ECS posted four players in double figures Friday night, compared to just one for Canton-Galva, as Elyria cruised to a 60-34 win. Elyria’s Caleb Froese led all scorers with 18 points.

It was all Elyria from get-go as they raced to an 8-2 lead before holding a five point advantage at the end of the first. ECS extended its lead to 12 by halftime.

Things got worse before they got better for Canton-Galva, as the Elyria lead was pushed to 20 entering the fourth quarter.

Canton-Galva showed fight in the fourth quarter and even had a few chances to cut the lead to 10. But Elyria regained the momentum in the fourth quarter to get the 26 point Wheat State League win.

Joining Froese in double figures were Aidan Fields with 13 points, Tyler Thiessen with 12 points and Kobe Neufeldt with 11. Dylan Wood led Canton-Galva with 12 points.
