Celebrate Recovery to meet Tuesday

Celebrate Recovery will meet Tuesday evening at Countryside Covenant Church, 940 E. Northview, McPherson. Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m., and a meeting follows at 6:30 p.m. Come for help with all life’s hurts, hangups and habits.

Domestic Art Club met March 8

The Domestic Art Club luncheon was held March 8 at Central Christian College Student Union.

Hostesses were Jerri Wall Yeargan, Cindy Griggs, Bev Scharf, Darlene Harms and Randee Koger.

Shirley Morris, president, welcomed 16 members and two guests, Sara Mueller and Linda Wankum.

The program was presented by Sarah on Haiti mission trips. She provided information about Haiti. No country has been helped out of poverty by aid, and Haiti has probably received the most mission trips as a country. Haitians are completely capable of pulling themselves out of poverty.

The Club Collect was recited along with minutes; treasurer's report and report of committees. Three March birthdays were noted. Next month will have election and installation of new officers.

The next meeting will be April 12, at Central Christian College Student Union.

Ladies Reading Circle met

On March 14, 2017 Ladies Reading Ciircle met in the Alumni Room on Central Christian College campus.

Hostesses Alma Nigh, Margaret Krehbiel and Lynne Lichty decorated the tables with bowls of yellow and white flowers. Roll call was answered by something you hope to do before our next meeting in October.

Officers installed for the 2017-2018 year were Margaret Smith, President; Lynne Lichty, Vice President; Susan Taylor, Secretary/Reporter; Janice Lacy, Treasurer; Alma Nigh, Historian and Veneta Ediger, Auditor.

BYOB (bring your own book) was the program led by Carla Barber which rounds out the year by sharing books we love. Everyone left with a long list of interesting reads for the summer.

The next meeting will be Oct. 10 th in the Alumni Room.

Dizzy Dames FCE met March 6

The Canton Dizzy Dames Family and Community Education unit met March 6 at the home of Adele Koehn. Roll call was answere with ways to save money.

This led into the lesson written by Elizabeth Kiss from K-State Research and Extention titled “Spend Some, Save Some: Family Budgeting,” given by Kim Krase. She also gave a second lesson called “Your Financial Goals” by Becky Wondra, a Kansas FCE member.

The next meeting will be held at Cathy Morgans home in Canton on April 3.
