Flint Hills festival
The Flint Hills Discovery Center’s fourth annual Flint Hills Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 20.
With over 2,500 expected guests and double the amount of vendors and activities than previous years, this is expected to be the best festival yet. Guests can enjoy live music, food trucks, beer, wine, and lots of children's activities.
The Flint Hills Discovery Center is located at 315 S. 3rd St. in Manhattan, Kansas.
This family-friendly event offers live music from local artists, food trucks of all varieties, regional beer and wine, demonstrations from local artisans and lots of children’s activities. Guests are invited to "feel the Flint Hills" as each booth and vendor at the festival offers a hands-on component.

Ride for a cause
Bike Around McPherson for Families, or BAM-FAM, is a fundraiser for McPherson Housing Coalition.
BAM-FAM starts at 8 a.m. May 20 at First United Methodist Church, 1200 E. Kansas Ave. Routes include 20-, 40- and 62-mile fun rides. The event includes a light breakfast, goodie bag, SAG stops, T-shirt and full lunch included with registration, which can be done at http://bikereg.com/bamfam.

"The Wonders of Grand Canyon National Park" will be held at 7 p.m. May 25 at The Cedars Wellness Center, 1021 Cedars Drive.
Bob and Judy Carson will share about some of their trips to the Grand Canyon National Park, including three hikes and a 15-minute movie of a Colorado River raft trip through the canyon.
