The Swedish holiday is celebrated June 17 in Lindsborg with Scandinavian food, music, folk dancing, arts, games, children’s activities and raising of the Midsummer Pole.
Other events include a 5K/2-mile walk, annual Kubb tournament and a free night swim at Lindsborg Municipal Pool.
SNAG a game
SNAG — Starting New At Golf — is a McPherson Recreation Commission program introducing and exposing the game of golf to children of all ages. Classes are held from 9 to 10 a.m. June 21, 28 and July 5 and 12 at Turkey Creek Golf Course, 1000 Fox Run in McPherson.
This summer program will allow children to gain basic golf knowledge. Instruction is taught by Treg Fawl, coordinator at Turkey Creek. Each camper receives a t-shirt. Learn about Sudan
The program “Sudan Rivers We’ve Been Up” will be held at 7 p.m. June 21 at The Cedars, 1021 Cedars Drive in McPherson.
Roger and Carolyn Schrock most recently lived in South Sudan, Africa.
They will share about the people they lived among and loved, the dynamic church, current struggles and opportunities that is the reality in South Sudan.
The program is free and everyone is welcome.
