Marc Knowles of Landmark Commercial Real Estate discussed the possibilities for developing the city’s annexed land for business purposes. He will put together a package of recommendations for consideration.
The Inman Police Department reported that they are training for recertification by July 1. Council members approved the hiring of Wade Moore as a part-time officer effective May 18. He will attend the part-time police academy in the fall.
Froese motioned to approve the Rainbow Fireworks contract of $3,000 for a fireworks display July 2 to be split with the Inman Chamber of Commerce.
Council members approved the planning commission’s recommendation to pass ordinance 543, which amends zoning regulations to require a conditional use permit for heavy truck or tractor parking on private property in the residential districts. The council reviewed Vogts-Parga’s revised first phase preliminary estimate for industrial development of the north land tract, totaling $198,000. This would develop approximately 10 acres adjacent to Ranch Land Road, omitting streets and roundabout.
