LINDSBORG — This month’s Makers Street Art Walk event theme was “Buskers.” The event celebrated buskers, those who perform on the street for money.
“Makers Street is meant to let people explore their own passions,” board member Tayla Mace said. “This one was really interactive. We are very excited about how it went.”
Folks from all over came to Lindsborg to show their craft on the streets of Lindsborg. From hula hoop demonstrations to fire dancing, the event showed an eclectic group of talented Kansans.
Next month’s event will coordinate with the artist-in-residence at the Red Barn Studio, Laura Baker. Baker’s last name fits her profession as she is a pie-baker, who will be writing and illustrating a pie recipe book “Pie as Art” at the Red Barn Studio.
In conjunction with Baker’s project, the Makers Street event will be a “pie-luck” at which people can bring their own pie to share and subsequently sample others or people can purchase tickets to sample the pies. The event will be held Aug. 11 at the Red Barn Studio, 212 S. Main St. in Lindsborg.
