DODGE CITY — McPherson's Jacob Lackey finished strong Friday at the Junior Match Play Championships at Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City. Lackey, who fell into the consolation bracket with a second round loss Thursday, bounced back with wins over the No. 12 seed Cole Elmore Friday morning and the No. 7 seed Parker Beal on Friday afternoon. Final scores were 3 and 1 and 1 up, respectively.

Garden City's Taylor Larsen won the match play championship with a 2 and 1 win over Sion Audrain in the semifinals and a 2 and 1 victory over Gentry Scheve in the tournament final. Larsen was the No. 2 seed, while Audrain was No. 11 and Scheve No. 13. Zach Sokolosky, the No. 8 seed, who knocked Lackey into the consolation bracket, lost in the semifinals to Scheve and Audrain in the consolations.
