"It was a treat to see the kids compete on the highest level of swimming in Missouri Valley."

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The McPherson Aqua Pups swim club finished its season over the weekend as they traveled to Missouri for the Missouri Valley Long Course Swimming Championships at the Mizzou Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Missouri. Seven Pups' athletes qualified for the meet in both individual and relay competition.

"What a capper it was," said McPherson coach Kyle Banman. "It was a treat to see the kids compete on the highest level of swimming in Missouri Valley."

Liberty Hampton competed in the 10 and under category, Matthew Powers and Rhys Vanderhoof in the 13-14, William Powers and Silas Steinert competed individually in the 15 and over with Isaac Duran and Simon Steinert joining them for the 200 free relay.

"Summer always seems to go by way too fast," Banman stated. "But after this meet and this season I'm already pumped and ready for the short course season this fall and winter. I appreciate all the support of our kids over these past couple of months."
