The next regular meeting of the Canton City Council will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Canton City Hall, 100 S. Main St. in Canton.
The Galva City Council met for a special session Aug. 16 with Mayor H.W. Ford presiding.
The council looked over the proposed compensation package to hire a new employee. After discussion, the council hired Adam Trapp as the Operator 2. After Trapp has received his CDL, Water, and Waste Water Certificates there will be a raise.
Trapp accepted the offer and thanked the city for the job opportunity.
The next regular meeting of the Galva City Council will be at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 at the Galva City Hall, 208 S. Main St.
The Inman City Council met Aug. 14 at the Inman City Office for its regular meeting.
Lucas Sawyer of the Inman Community Development, Inc. announced that Zachary Davidson was hired as economic development director effective Sept. 6. His office will be at 200 S. Main.
The 2018 budget hearing started at 8:03 p.m. No citizen input was received. The council approve the published 2018 budget, decreasing the mill levy slightly to 69.019.
The council approved Ordinance 546, which amends the original ordinance that levied special assessments on Valley View Subdivision for 20 years. Due to the early repayment of $155,000 principal stemming from the Moderate Income Housing grant, the ten remaining lots not in the MIH program will have their current repayment schedule shortened from eleven years to six years.
The council approved a Moderate Income Housing grant for a family to build a house at 509 Harvest Hills, conditioned upon their signing the promissory note this week.
The council consensus was to allow payment of the deputy clerk for her attendance at a two day leadership seminar last week.

The next regular meeting of the Lindsborg City Council will be at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21 in the Council Chamber of Lindsborg City Hall, 101 S. Main St. in Lindsborg.
The next regular meeting of the Marquette City Council will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Marquette City Hall, 113 N. Washington St. in Marquette.
McPherson Board of Public Utilities
The next regular meeting of the McPherson BPU will be held at 3 p.m. on Aug. 14 at the BPU office, 401 W. Kansas Ave. in McPherson.
The McPherson Area Solid Waste and Utility Annual Board of Directors meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Aug. 22 at the transfer station. The regular Board of Directors’ meeting will follow immediately after.
McPherson City Commission
The next regular meeting of the McPherson City Commission will be at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 14 in the Municipal Center, 400 E. Kansas Ave. in McPherson.
The next regular meeting of the McPherson County Commission will be at 9 a.m. Aug. 14 in the fifth floor Conference Room of the First Bank of Kansas Building, 122 W. Marlin St. in McPherson.
MRC met Aug. 10 and discussed the Wall Park break-in, equipment purchases and Grant sidewalks.
The next regular meeting of MRC will be held at noon on Sept. 14 at Tres Amigos, 121 W. Marlin St. in McPherson.
The McPherson Board of Education will meet for a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Central Office, 514 N. Main St. in McPherson.
The next regular meeting of the Moundridge City Council will be at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 4 at 225 S. Christian St. in Moundridge.
New Gottland Township
The next regular meeting of the New Gottland Township Council will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 5 at the New Gottland Lutheran Church at 1822 17th Ave.
