Suzanne C. Mercer, age 63, of Manhattan, Kansas, died Aug. 21, 2017, at the Via Christi Village in Manhattan.
She was born on Nov. 17, 1953, in Rochester, New York and was the daughter of Nicholas and Betty E. (Parmenter) Bianchi.
Suzanne did clerical work for many years, including the Riley County Seniors’ Service Center in Manhattan, Kansas most recently. Suzanne was a member of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church and The Fraternal Order of Eagles in Manhattan. She enjoyed gardening, music, and dancing. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was married to Steve Malcolm and he preceded her in death in 2005.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her four children: Alisha Campbell, Valley Center; Kelly Nuss, Morenci, Arizona; Seth Hill, Salina, and Codi Benologa of Manhattan, Kansas. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Skyler, Scarlett, and Emma Benologa, and fifteen siblings: Kathy Parr, Cindi Gardner, Maureen Osborne, Debby Rauch, Karen Grover, David Bianchi, Lucy Belknap, Nicky Bianchi, Jimmy Bianchi, Laurie Bianchi, Carla DiBenedetto, Chris Bianchi, Kelly Wicker, Jody Belknap and Craig Bianchi.
A rosary service will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 28 a funeral mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. The family will greet friends and relatives at a luncheon following the service, at Seven Dolors Catholic Church, located at the corner of Juliette and Pierre Streets, Manhattan, Kansas.
A memorial has been established for the Riley County Seniors’ Service Center and Manhattan Catholic Schools. Contributions may be left in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Ave., Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
