INMAN — Canton-Galva's volleyball team traveled across the county to Inman on Tuesday for a triangular with Inman and Centre and came away with a split. They opened the night beating the Cougars 25-21, 23-25, 26-24 before losing to the Teutons 25-7, 25-14.

Ashley Nightingale was a perfect seven for seven serving for the Eagles and accounted for 25 digs. Tia Moddelmog was credited with seven blocks and seven kills.

"We have a lot to work on but I was very impressed with our defense tonight," stated Canton-Galva coach Kaitlyn Bressie. "That gives us a solid foundation to build on and to improve in the coming days and weeks. Inman is a very good volleyball team. They have great athletes and you can tell they are well coached. They are going to be a tough team to beat this year."

In other action at Inman, the Teutons defeated the Cougars 25-9, 25-12.

The Eagles return to the court next Tuesday as they once again hit the road. They will compete in a triangular at Herrington with varsity matches getting underway at 6:10 p.m.
