Collaborative forces are addressing street repairs along north Walnut Street in McPherson. Initial curb repair was completed by the McPherson Street Department in recent weeks, which will be followed by the milling process completed by an outside contractor. Milling is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 6 or 7.

Walnut Street will remain closed from First Street north to National Street with no access allowed from any side streets. Residents will only be able to access their properties and driveways from the north end of Walnut Street at National Street or from the south end of Walnut Street at First Street.

“We appreciate the cooperation and patience of local residents as we complete these much needed repairs,” noted Public Works Director Jeff Woodward.

Final street improvements will include patching completed by the Street Department and an overlay finished by McPherson County during September.
