Two people were injured in a crash Tuesday on K-61 north of Hutchinson.
According to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, Melvin Ensz, 70, of Inman was driving a pickup truck northbound on the highway around a speed of 30 mph with hazard lights on at 4:28 p.m. when Travis Oden, 43, of Hutchinson overtook him in a pickup truck. According to the crash log, Oden didn’t realize how slow Ensz was traveling until it was too late to avoid rear-ending the pickup.
The pickup driven by Ensz went off the highway into the east ditch, where it rolled twice.
Ensz and his passenger, 67-year-old Glenda Ensz of Inman, were taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with injuries. Oden was uninjured.
