TOPEKA – The Kansas Department for Children and Families is pleased to announce that Staff Development Trainer Katherine Bruce was recently recognized as a Regional Employee of the Second Quarter. This quarterly award serves to highlight the good work of State staff.

Bruce has worked with DCF for more than 10 years and currently serves in the DCF West Region. As part of her job duties, Bruce trains staff and develops desk aids and additional tools for employee development. Recently, she has been very involved with training staff for the agency-wide computer system upgrade.

Employee of the Quarter recipients are nominated by their peers and supervisors for showing excellence in their work.

“Katherine Bruce is constantly looking for new ways to improve the learning process to train staff,” said DCF Secretary Phyllis Gilmore. “She creates a good learning environment for her coworkers, and I am proud to present this award to such a deserving employee.”
