Moundridge has been competitive in two games but with zero wins to show for it.

HUTCHINSON — The Moundridge High School football team has been completive in its two games this season, but with zero wins to show for it.

The Wildcats traveled to Hutchinson Trinity on Friday and were defeated 30-19. The game was close for the first three quarters, but Hutch Trinity made a few big plays late to pull away.

Moundridge jumped on the board first thanks to a two-yard rushing touchdown from Colin Kohl. Hutch Trinity then scored 16 unanswered to take a 16-7 lead into halftime.

Mason Dyck found Damion Calderon from 16 yards out to pull within three, but Trinity responded with 14 straight points to put the game on ice. Dyck scored on a one-yard rushing touchdown with 4:37 in the fourth to make it interesting.

Moundridge will look for its first win next Friday at home against an undefeated Ell-Saline squad.
