Gallagher leads at 22-7 with Matt sitting at 21-8.

Gallagher- 22-7

Matt- 21-8

Week three in the Big 12 was pretty straightforward with the exception of Kansas State falling on the road to Vanderbilt. Texas gave USC all they could handle, but the Trojans prevailed at home in a thrilling double-overtime win. Gallagher maintained a slight one-game lead over Matt  as both went 8-2 overall last week. Gallagher was disappointed by both Kansas schools losing, while Matt also missed on Kansas State his upset pick in SMU over TCU. With the start of the conference schedule for most Big 12 schools, the Sentinel staff will pick each conference matchup along with one other big-time college football game.

Texas Tech at Houston

Gallagher- Texas Tech may not be as bad as I previously thought in the preseason, but I’m nowhere near sold on the Red Raiders. I like Houston in this game, playing behind an energized home crowd. 38-31 Houston

Matt- Red Raiders have no defense but, thank goodness they have a high-powered offense. TTU 52-45

West Virginia at Kansas

Gallagher- I’m done picking Kansas until they play Baylor or maybe Texas. 42-10 WVU

Matt- Rock Chalk...ahh forget it. Blow out here by the Mountaineers. 49-13 WVU

No. 16 TCU at No. 6 Oklahoma State

Gallagher- Oklahoma State is ready for a challenge. They have yet to trail at any point this season, and they’ve won their three games by a combined score of 162-55. I think TCU will give Oklahoma State a sufficient challenge, and they’ll still win by double digits. 49-38 Oklahoma State

Matt- Oklahoma State really hasn’t played anyone yet so we don’t know how good they are. TCU has been tested some but not much. Have to pick an upset because, that’s how I roll. 31-28 TCU

No. 3 Oklahoma at Baylor

Gallagher- I personally hope they both lose, but I think only Baylor will actually lose. 55-28 Oklahoma/Yeah, Oklahoma isn’t losing to Baylor. 55-28 Oklahoma

Matt- Baylor’s only chance this year is probably against Kansas. 63-10 OU

No. 17 Mississippi State at No. 11 Georgia

Gallagher- My head is telling me Mississippi State is a one-hit wonder and that last week’s monster win over LSU was a fluke. My heart is telling me they’ll go on the road and upset Georgia. 24-20 MSU

Matt- This one is between the hedges at Sanford Stadium. Dawgs don’t lose very often there so, let’s go with them at home. 35-31 Georgia
