McPherson had 21 shots on goal for the game while El Dorado had zero.

In a game whose margin could have been much higher, the McPherson soccer team drilled El Dorado 10-0 Tuesday night in front of the home crowd at McPherson Stadium. The Bullpups run their record to 7-3 with the win.

McPherson scored nine goals in the first half, one short of what was needed to end the game at the break. With at least a half-dozen shots hitting the post or crossbar, it could have been a 15 goal first half for the Pups.

"This was another fun game where our offense was able to show what they could do," Mac coach Chris Adrian said. "We opened the game hitting two posts and missed a couple of easy chances to score but once we finally got the first goal, the next two came really fast and we were able to put the game beyond any doubt quickly."

Britton Haigh got the scoring started on an assist from Sammie Jamie. Haigh added two more first half goals as well. Darrius Armstrong and Luke Brossard each had two goals in the opening period with Sammie Jaime and Rhett Edmonson notching one apiece to give Mac a 9-0 halftime lead.

Jael Jaime ended the game two and a half minutes into the second half with a goal on the assist by Sammie Jaime, his second of the night. Drew Schrader added two assists, Armstrong, and Jael Jaime each had one.

McPherson had 21 shots on goal for the game while Pups goalie Nathan Lloyd made zero saves.

We now head into a difficult and crucial portion of our schedule where we play four really good teams in the span of 7 days," said Adrian. "This next week is really going to put our depth to the test as we are going to need to use a lot more subs to keep legs fresh with the quick turnarounds. Honestly though, it’s something we need in order to be prepared for post season play."

The McPherson JV team had no trouble with El Dorado either, as they won 9-0. Cody Achilles, Luke Brossard and Zach Wash led the way with two goals each. Carson Stone, Cael Bauer and Florian Gergs added a goal apiece.

The Bullpups travel to Salina on Thursday to take on Salina South. Game time is 5 p.m. for the JV and 6:30 p.m. for varsity at Salina USD 305 District Stadium.
