LOST SPRINGS — In their final tune up before the Wheat State League tournament, the Canton-Galva volleyball team swept a triangular from Centre and Wakefield. The Eagles beat the Cougars 25-16, 25-16, then disarmed the Bombers 25-15, 22-25, 25-19.

"It was nice to get two league wins tonight," said Eagles coach Kaitlyn Bressie. "We are hoping that is enough to put us in the top six to go to the league tournament. Centre was a tough match for us as they have improved tremendously since we played them at the beginning of the year. That was a good win for us."

Tia Moddelmog had 15 kills and Alexa Burch had 11. Jayci Mastre chipped in 25 assists. Canton-Galva served 97% as a team with 16 aces. The back row was held down by Ashley Nightingale and Alex Koehn with great defense and serve receive.

"We are off until our league tournament so we will take some time to rest and then get back to work," Bressie said.

The Wheat State League tournament is Oct. 14 at Goessel High School in Goessel.
