McPherson improves to 25-4 on the season as they prepare for their own invitational on Saturday.

TOWANDA — The McPherson High School volleyball team went on the road to Towanda and swept a triangular, defeating Circle 25-11, 25-20 and Buhler 19-25, 25-14, 25-16. McPherson improves to 25-4 on the season as they prepare for their own invitational on Saturday.

"In the Circle match in set one we were in charge and played well," said Bullpups coach Christy Doile. "In set two Circle played much better and we fought back to win the set. We were flat and had too many errors in the first Buhler set but we were back to normal in set two and three. It wasn't our best night and we are happy to walk away with two wins."

Elle Barrett led the way with 32 kills, with Cassie Cooks adding 16 and Andrea Sweat 14. Jaycee Burghart once again dominated the assists category with 58. Michaela Bowers had 21 digs, Bailea Crist had 13 and Burghart 11. Sweat added three blocks while Barrett had four aces and Cooks added two.

"Sweat and Cooks held us steady out of the middle," Doile remarked. "Burghart played well and Mickey(Bowers) was good on receive as always. Barrett came up with some timely hits."

Next up for McPherson is their invitational Saturday in The Roundhouse at McPherson High School. Ten schools, including Mac, will compete beginning at 8 a.m.
