Canton-Galva beat St John 66-32.
LITTLE RIVER — Little River scored first and went to halftime down 14-6 to perennial power Central Plains before the Oilers ripped off 38 points in the third quarter to win the game 52-12. Little River falls to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in district play with the loss.
Peyton Harvey and Hunter Thomas were the lone Redskins to get into the end zone; Harvey on a 2-yard run in the second quarter to open the scoring and Thomas on a 3-yard run in the third quarter to close to score to 14-12. From that point on it was all Oilers.
Harvey finished with 50 yards on 14 carries. Thomas had 19 yards on 11 carries. Levi Swenson added 8 carries for 18 yards and he threw for 50 yards, with four completions on 10 attempts. Brayden Sears hauled in two passes for 53 yards.
Little River goes on the road next week to Canton-Galva for a game that will likely determine the second place team in 8-man District 6 and determine who will make the playoffs and who will stay home. A 7 p.m kickoff is scheduled in Canton.
The Eagles improved their record to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the district with a 66-32 drubbing of St. John. It is the second year in a row Canton-Galva has scored 66 points against the Tigers. They now look forward to the home match up against Little River next Friday.
