On Oct. 2 and 4, members of the Happy Homemakers Family and Community Education group, the Kettle Queens FCE in Moundridge and Canton Dizzy Dames FCE attended the Kansas State Association of Family and Community Education meeting in Salina from Oct 2 through the 4. The theme was “FCE at the Crossroads” had workshops on Dolls of the world, Rural American Art, Cities on the Plains, Outsmart Fraud and a presentation on awareness of purchasing items from fair trade laws. A closing talk was done by two men who were instrumental in the early radio broadcasting news world.
Awards were given to county council presidents in FCE, past presidents of state FCE and to outgoing state officers. Displays were shown from units across Kansas about their projects lessons were also given.
