LINDSBORG — The Bethany College defense was strong Wednesday night in a close 1-0 loss to the Panthers of York College.

The Bethany defenders played hard for the entire match, holding the Panthers to just one goal, unfortunately, that turned out to be enough to defeat the Swedes. The Panthers only goal came in the 17th minute of the match from Breanna Bembenek.

Several members of the Swedes offense had shots that came close throughout the match but could not quite find the net as the Panthers goalkeeper stayed tough in the net.

In goal for the Swedes, freshman goalkeeper Jordan Wells collected four saves on the night.

The Swedes will be at home again next Tuesday wrapping up regular season play against Sterling College. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
