MOUNDRIDGE – A home near Moundridge is a total loss after it was leveled in an explosion Tuesday morning.
The explosion occured around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at 1625 Buckskin Road, Moundridge.
When crews arrived, they found the home engulfed in fire. There were no injuries. Kim Krehbiel was the only resident of the home and he was not there when the explosion occurred.
Crews from across McPherson County were called in to assist at the scene of the explosion.
The cause is still under investigation.
Krehbiel and his dog left home to run some errands and returned to a pile of rubble. He’s lived in the house for 20 years. He had lost a previous home in the Hesston tornado in 1990.
