Jacey Sarah Cantrell, 22, of Wamego, and formerly of Canton, passed away Nov. 1, 2017, at Geary Community Hospital, Junction City, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was a fourth grade teacher at Eisenhower Elementary School in Junction City.
Jacey was born on Nov. 29, 1994, in McPherson, the daughter of Matthew Darrell and Jennifer Lieselotte (Stucky) Cantrell.
She graduated as valedictorian from Canton-Galva High School in 2013. She graduated from Emporia State University summa cum laude with honors.
She enjoyed photography, photo editing and spending time with her fiancé, Eli. In high school, she was on the journalism team.
Survivors include: fiancé, Eli Janzen of Wamego; parents, Matthew and Jennifer Cantrell of Canton; brother, Wesley Cantrell of Salina; grandparents, Barbara and Lawton Nuss of Topeka, Carolyn Smith of McPherson, and Brad and Connie Stucky of McPherson; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 6 at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 7, at First Christian Church, McPherson with the Rev. Lynn Scott officiating. Burial will be at Canton Township Cemetery.
