McPherson County voters have spoken.

Ballots from the Nov. 7 local election were counted that evening and final counts will be available after canvassing on Nov. 13, when provisional ballots are counted and other aspects are finalized.

Selected officials will take office Jan. 8, 2018.

This year, municipal elections were moved to the fall in hopes of improving voter turn out. The 2017 election cycle is the first to have fall municipal elections.

Out of the 17,001 registered voters in McPherson County, 3,638 or about 20 percent of voters participated this year.
