The Galva City Council met for a regular meeting Nov. 6. The council approved bills at a total of $134,715.74 and a financial statement showing a balance of $1,651,181.89.

Inman City Council met Nov. 13 at the Inman City Office for its regular meeting.
Don Froese motioned to approve Appropriation Ordinance 2017-10 for Oct. checks 13999 through 14044 and Appropriation Ordinance 2017-11 for Nov. checks 14045 through 14076. The governing body also received various October cash and budgetary reports and the bank reconciliation.
Wade Moore is attending the law enforcement academy for part-time officers. A 10-foot by 10-foot dog kennel will be added behind the police department. The police department will have Taser and CPR training this month. The pet vaccination clinic will be held at the city shop at 105 S. Locust March 17, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. with city tags also sold then.
Re-roofing of the library was tabled with staff to monitor for leaks. Painting/cleaning of the south water tower was discussed and tabled. Holiday decorations will be erected this week. Toews, several staff, volunteer(s) and a representative from the engineering firm plan to attend the KDWPT trail/sidewalk grant hearing Nov. 30 in Wichita. The governing body discussed right-of-way for a trail creation to the country park; no action was taken.
A public meeting will be held Nov. 27 to temporarily continue the Comprehensive Development Plan. No conditional use permits for semi truck parking have been received. A current violator indicated it will be removed by Dec. 1.
As the U.S. Post Office will no longer handle utility bills locally, the city will mail bills in envelopes and encourage patrons to receive bills by email when our software allows.
Ruth Sisson and Devin Schierling presented splash pad information from three small area cities. They volunteered to work on a committee to explore the future possibility of a splash pad.
