LINDSBORG — Playing on short rest did not hurt either team’s offense.

Bethany College (5-5) and Central Christian College (1-7), both playing their second game in as many days, met up in Lindsborg Wednesday morning, with the Swedes exploding for a 103-75 win.

Bethany led 24-15 after the first quarter, but took a 27-point lead into the fourth quarter after outscoring the Tigers in each of the first three quarters. Alex Tyson led the Swedes with 17 points and eight rebounds, while Lauren Welsch scored 10 points and had a team-high four assists.

Havanna Yannello led Central with 16 points while also brining down nine rebounds (five offensive). Holly Golden also turned in a solid effort with 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds from her guard position.

Bethany held a distinct 60-45 advantage in rebounds and shot 45 percent from the field. Central took one more shot than Bethany, but finished 29.6 percent from the field.

Bethany transitions back to Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday when they host No. 16 Friends University. Central will play an exhibition game against Oklahoma Baptist University on Monday before the Tigers open Sooner Athletic Conference play on Nov. 30 at Mid America Christian.
