Junkers and Christmas shoppers alike will find something for everyone on their lists at Walnut Street Flea Market, a pop-up market in McPherson.
A wide variety of crafts, vintage items, farm decor and more will be on display from Nov. 17 through Dec. 23 at the market.
Vendors have set up shop at 405. N. Walnut St. in McPherson and will be open from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. on Fridays and 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
Melody Duren, manager of the market, is hopeful crafters and junkers alike will come and enjoy the unique pieces the booths have to offer.
"There will be booths with vintage stuff, pottery, shabby chic, someone is bringing baked goods, so it'll just be a wide variety of things," Duren said.
The idea for the market was started through a chance encounter.
"The owner was looking for different ideas as far as renting it out, then it became empty and I had a garage sale in there and he asked me from there if I would be interested in helping him set up a flea market," Duren said.
Before starting the flea market, Duren had her own love for crafts when she owned the Gypsy Wagon on Main Street in McPherson.
“I needed another avenue for my furniture. My husband and I repurpose furniture and also build farm tables,” she said.
The market is in its first year and is still looking for a variety of vendors to offer their treasures. Different vendors will be at the flea market from Nov. 17 through Dec. 23 and will offer something for everyone. Duren will also offer her repurposed and farm table furniture.
