The Eisenhower Elementary School redesign team met Nov. 16. During the meeting, the majority of the time was spent developing a structure for the new morning meetings called “Jag Time.”
This meeting time will begin as a whole school promoting school community by beginning the day on the same page with a school song and announcements. Students will then be dismissed to individual classes.
During the individual class morning meeting time, emphasis will be focused on developing a routine that will start students out by ensuring basic needs are taken care of, and then preparing students to meet the needs of the day socially and with a preview of academic expectations.
The remainder of the meeting was reviewing a recent research trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma where a delegation viewed a school where personalized learning and morning meetings are being implemented.
