The former Manhattan city attorney was sentenced in U.S. District Court to more than 17 years in federal prison on child pornography charges, officials said Wednesday.

U.S. Attorney Tom Beall said the 210-month sentence reflected guilty pleas to three counts of transporting child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.

Bill Raymond, 55, of Andover, admitted to emailing child pornography to himself using a cellular telephone and a computer twice in 2015 and once in 2014. The other count related to his possession of child pornography was in 2015.

Raymond was city attorney in Manhattan from 2012 to 2015 after serving as an assistant county counselor in Sedgwick County.

He entered guilty pleas in August to the offenses, which occurred in Riley and Butler counties. Before sentencing, he surrendered his Kansas law license and was disbarred.
