Delish — Taste Life is starting 2018 off by giving back.
The McPherson restaurant, located at 204 N Main St., will host a New Year’s Eve bash, and part of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the McPherson County Humane Society.
“We’ve wanted to partner with a non-profit agency and do a dinner or event with them — one, to help the organization, and two, to get our name out there a bit more too,” explained Ann Koehn, co-owner of Delish. “Mary Steffes bartends for us sometimes so she and I have been talking about doing something like this ever since we opened.”
Steffes, the president and treasurer of the McPherson County Humane Society board, explained that a low-key New Year’s Eve party in McPherson would suit a number of residents.
“We felt that people want to go somewhere for New Year’s Eve, not necessarily out of town, but have the option to have a nice dinner. We thought Delish would provide the perfect place for that to happen. It’ll be casual and fun, we’ll have some giveaways. We’ve been talking about it for a long time and now we’re there,” Steffes said.
The evening begins with dinner, starting at 5 p.m., which includes specials and a limited menu. Dinner does not require a ticket and is first come, first serve.
“A portion of the proceeds from that dinner and drinks will go toward the humane society, so those who can’t attend the ticketed event can still donate and help the humane society,” Koehn said.
The ticketed event starts at 8 p.m. and will include music by Fallis Stockham Syndrome, prize giveaways and specialty drinks. Appetizers for the evening include housemade chips and dip, chicken wings, fried ravioli, veggies and dip, mozzarella sticks and ham and cheese sliders. Delish will also be serving non-alcoholic drinks like tea, sodas, coffee and punch.
Tickets are $25 each or $45 per couple, and each ticket includes entertainment, appetizers and one free specialty drink.
