The Canton Dizzy Dames Family and Community Education Unit met Jan. 8 at the home of Maida Laughlin in Canton.
Roll call was answered by a thought on citizenship. The lesson was “Citizenship,” which is one of six lessons printed by CHARACTER COUNTS! of the Josephson Institute of Ethics. This lesson is taught in the Art and Essay Contest for fourth grade students by FCE members.
The Dizzy Dames lesson by Geneva Wedel asked: when does a person become a good citizen? What is community? Part of the discussion was checking the meanings of words in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The rest of the evening was spent planning upcoming programs and hostesses.
