LINDSBORG — Clarity Home Inspections a local company offering home inspection, radon testing and mitigation and related services, announced today they will offer at least 50 free radon tests to homeowners in the Salina, McPherson, and Hutchinson areas.
January is National Radon Action Month. To raise awareness this month Clarity is offering free radon tests.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency and the World Health Organization, exposure to radon increases the risk of lung cancer. Radon is a cancer-causing, radioactive gas. You can’t see, smell or taste radon, but it may be a problem in your home.
Radon is estimated to cause many thousands of deaths each year. The U.S. Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. Only smoking causes more lung cancer deaths. The EPA estimates over 20,000 people die each year in the U.S. from lung cancer caused by Radon Exposure. That is over 50 people per day.
John Mattox, owner of Clarity Home Inspections said, “Your home should be a safe place to raise your family and make priceless memories, not a danger to your health. It just doesn’t seem right that anyone would not get their home tested for Radon simply due to the cost of the test. Hopefully we can help at least 50 families find out if their home is safe this month.”
Clarity Home Inspections offers professional home inspection services to central Kansas. Clarity also offers radon testing, radon abatement, mold testing and inspections, well systems test and water testing, and infrared thermal inspections.
