Peter Holland Jr. has been named the new sports editor for the McPherson Sentinel.

Prior to his hire, he served as an intern for Deseret News Sports in Salt Lake City, Utah. Originally from Hollywood, Florida, Holland graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and journalism and a minor in business communications.

While at school, he wrote for the school newspaper, Panther Press, for two years. He has covered all of FIU athletics. This includes being the football beat writer for two seasons, women’s basketball, and track and field.

When not writing or doing sports coverages, Holland enjoys watching college football, NFL, NBA and sports talk shows. He also enjoys working out, watching Netflix and is active on social media.

In addition to covering sports, Holland is also a fan of playing sports: he was a member of the 2010 national championship football team for Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
