MARION — Dr. Thomas Cranford Ensey, 97, of Marion, passed Jan. 23, 2018 at Marion Assisted Living in Marion. T.C. was born Nov. 22, 1920 in McKinney, Texas to Thomas L. and Martha E. (Cranford) Ensey. He graduated from Carmon High School in Carmon, Oklahoma and also Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. T.C. served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1945. While serving in the Navy, he and Lila Edith Lindley were married on Sept. 12, 1944 in Houston.
He was a resident of Marion where he was a family physician having his own practice from 1949 until his retirement in 1982.
Dr. Ensey is survived by his sons; Lowell (Leila) Ensey of Bel Aire, Larry (Melanie) Ensey of Marion and Dean (Joanne) Ensey of Erie, Pennsylvania; a sister Mary Eunice Crown of McPherson; eight grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents; wife Lila E. Ensey; three half-brothers Clarence, Lee Harrell and Willis Ensey and three half-sisters Lois Hansen, Mattie Lee Harrell and Hazel Trawick.
A memorial service for Dr. Ensey will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion with visitation following the service in the fellowship hall. Burial has taken place. Memorial contributions in Dr. Ensey’s name can be made to either Central Christian College of McPherson or Eastmoor United Methodist Church and can be sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, P.O.
