WICHITA, Kan. – The men’s and women’s track and field teams had great success at this weekend’s meet.

The Swedes took first place in four different events during the meet: Destiny Dyson – 300m, Noah Smucker took first in both the 60m hurdles and the 300m, and Milton Hall took first place in the weight throw while setting a new personal best.

The Swedes also had nine different athletes place in the top three in several events. Second place finishes include, Danielle Johnson: weight throw, Bryce Carmack: pole vault, and Joel Quinones: 300m. Third place finishes include, Danielle Johnson: shot put, Kristen Herzet: weight throw, Zane Bradshaw: pole vault, Milton Hall: shot put, Curtis Ivanoff: 3000m, and Hannah Price: 1500m.

Top eight Swede performers include, Chelbie Chaney - 8th place: shot put & 4th place: weight throw, Cassie Kuehl - 5th place shot put & 6th place weight throw, Kristen Herzet - 6th place shot put, Destiny Dyson - 7th place 60m, Katie Adam - 5th place 300m, Erin Newport - 6th place 300m, Ajay Dandu - 5th place 3,000m, Blaine Israel - 5th place 300m, Angelo Fontaine - 6th place 300m, Keaton McKay - 8th place 300m, and Jamall Theodile - 5th place 1500m & 8th place 800m.

First time performers include, Hannah Price -1500m, Erin Newport - 300m, Katie Adam - 300m Destiny Dyson - 300m, Blaine Israel - 300m, Noah Smucker - 300m, Joel Quinones - 300m and 800m, Keaton McKay - 300m, Mike Davis - 300m, Angelo Fontaine - 300m, Curtis Ivanoff - 1500m, Ivan Perez - 1500m, Teylyr Wheeles-1500m, Jamall Theodile - 1500m, and Harrison Woodyard -1500m.

The Swedes also set several school records: 1500m - Hannah Price (5:28) and Jamall Theodile (4:34), 300m Destiny Dyson (45.66) and Noah Smucker (36.25).

The Swedes will travel to Pittsburg, Kan. this weekend to compete in the KCAC Championships beginning at 9am.
