Lucille Johnson made her final transition peacefully surrounded by family and friends Feb. 5, 2018 at Bethany Home, Lindsborg.

Lucille was born Nov. 24, 1920 at Pershing, Oklahoma, the daughter of A.C. and Hazel (Hall) Sole.

She attended Lindsborg High School and Brown Mackie Business College. She was an Assistant Funeral Director of Danielson-Johnson Funeral Home in Lindsborg in the 1950s. She was later the high school secretary for USD 400 for over 20 years until her semi-retirement.

She worked part time for Evelyn’s Fabrics and lastly at Village Clotheslane in Lindsborg until she was 85.

She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church since 1948, American Legion Auxiliary, Women’s Study Club, Sewing Club and Smoky Valley Association of Retired School Personnel. Her hobbies included china painting, golf and reading.

Survivors include three sons; Jim Sole of Brevard, North Carolina; James of Lindsborg, Dennis of Great Bend, daughter-in-law Jan of Moscow, Pennsylvania; Five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Preceding Lucille in death were her former husband, Maitland Johnson, her son Larry Johnson at the age of 41. Also preceding were her brothers; Kenneth and Lewis Sole, and sisters; Eloise Hunter and sister Arlene.

Graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Lindsborg on Monday Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. with reception to follow at Bethany Home in Lindsborg.
