The Monitor Family and Community Education unit met Jan. 19 at the home of Mary Ellen Howell. Six members were present.
Howell gave the presentation “Character Counts — Citizenship.” This lesson teaches what true citizenship means, words and actions that show citizenship and how to recognize opportunities to show good citizenship.
Jodene Fisher, president, opened the meeting with the group repeating the Kansas FCE creed. Roll call was answered with “something I do to be a good citizen.”
Monitor FCE helped with the Inman blood drive on Dec. 29 by giving a monetary donation. Howell reported on an article from the Kansas FCE about children’s book awards.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Feb. 19 at the home of Mary Unruh.
