At 2 p.m. on March 3 at the McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation, located at 1111 E. Kansas Ave. McPherson, KS 67460, one of the most classic advertising icons, the MGM lion logo, has been the opening credit of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer movies for close to one hundred years.
One of the lions used as a mascot is supposedly housed in the McPherson Museum. Come hear about the history of the MGM lion, the ties to McPherson, and what we now know about this famous museum artifact. This will be presented by Brett Whitenack, the McPherson Museum Curator. All historical society programs are open to the public and are free of charge.
