The Central Christian College women's golf team earned some recognition this past week, not for their exploits on the golf course, but for the hard work they are putting in, in the classroom. For their efforts in hitting the books, the Tiger golfers were named an NCCAA Scholar Team. Criterion for the award is a team GPA of 3.4 or higher.
The Tiger women's golf team consisting of freshmen MaiLeAna Bruce, Summer Bruce, Sarah Gordzelik, and Vanessa Warner, and sophomore Kari Kirl had a GPA of 3.56 for the fall semester. Central head coach Kyle Moody is proud of the emphasis his team puts on academics saying, "Our goal is to have a team GPA of 3.25, but these ladies blew that out of the water! I am proud of the ladies on this team and how diligently they work in the classroom. Without the dedication of each one of them an award of this nature is unattainable. I am honored to be able to coach such dedicated young women." Courtesy photo/Central Christian College
