WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Several members of the Swedes track and field team set new personal records at the meet.
For the throwers, Whitney Harvey qualified for the A-standard in the shot put with a distance of 13.69m. Harvey set a new PR in the weight throw that moved her to sixth place in the country with a distance of 17.54m.
Danielle Johnson threw her season high distance in the weight throw with a distance of 15.66m as did Cassidy Kuehl with a throw of 11.62m. Kris Quidachay and Milton Hall also set personal bests in the weight throw with a distance of 13.19m and 14.79m.
Pole Vaulter Bryce Carmack set a new personal best with a jump height of 4.50m.
Runners Blaine Israel and Joel Quinones were successful as well as Israel set a personal best of 51.82 and Quinones won his heat with a time of 1:23.85 in the 600m.
"I was very pleased with how our small squads competed to round out the regular season of indoor track and field," said coach Aaron Yoder. "Whitney Harvey once again had tremendous day bettering her marks in the shot put and weight throw. She qualified for the shot put and is putting herself in a great position going into nationals. I am very excited to see what she does in two weeks at Pittsburg State for the National Championships. We are looking very strong going into the outdoor season where we will open up at Sterling College for a relays and field meet on March 10."
