Readers might be surprised what they find at the McPherson Public Library during the Regional Book Tasting event.
The event is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 16 in the meeting room of the library, located at 214 W. Marlin St. in McPherson and is free to attend.
"We will feature foods and books from multiple regions and cultures. The event is similar to book tasting events held in the past, but also recognizes the diverse and unique perspectives that the United States has to offer," said Shannon Brake, manager of marketing and communications at the library.
This isn't the first time the library has showcased books from around the around the world.
"Patrons may remember the International Book Tasting event last year, and this event will be similar, except with a more focused concentration," Brake added.
Regions that will be highlighted are, the northwest, the Great Plains, the east coast, the south, the upper midwest and the southwest.
This event gives the library a chance to show off new and old books and or authors that have been chosen for each region.
"It gives us the opportunity to highlight interesting items from our collection that may not get exposure otherwise, but still warrant attention. Everyone seems to enjoy discovering new authors and books," she said.
