Though the spring season has only just started, McPherson residents are eagerly preparing for May's All Schools Day.

This year, All Schools Day — McPherson County's celebration of students and their achievements — will be held May 6 through 12 in McPherson. The theme "Fun in the Sun" will be celebrated with the return of the sand sculptures to be built on Kansas Avenue, across from the McPherson post office.

There are a number of upcoming meetings and deadlines for those interested in participating in 2018 events.

— There will be a float building informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. on March 26 at the McPherson Museum, 1111 E Kansas Ave. in McPherson. Anyone willing to donate the use of a space where a float can be built indoors should contact the McPherson Convention and Visitors Bureau at 620-241-3340.

— Registration now open: Groups wanting to perform at May Fete on May 9 or 10 should register on the May Fete page of the All Schools Day website, http://allschoolsday.com Madathon information and registration forms will be available soon on the All Schools Day website as well.

— Due to the large amount of dignitaries expected at this year’s parade, the committee is looking for convertible cars to use during the All Schools Day parade on May 11. Contact Temoer Terry at 757-597-4322.
