MARION — The Inman High School baseball team was humbled in their season opening doubleheader at Marion on Thursday, losing both games 17-6 and 15-0.

In game one, Inman did score five runs in innings three and four, but Marion put across four runs in the first, three in the third and 10 in the fourth as they cruised to the 17-6 victory.

John Ramey led the way for the Teutons by going 2-for-3 at the plate, while Kolton Lane and Dakota Parkhurst did punch out doubles. Derrick Johnson got the start and the combination of Carter Brown and Jayden Leonhardt took the mound in relief.

Game two only went three innings, as Marion poured across five in the first and just one in the second before pounding across nine in the third for the 15-0 win.

Marion pitching dominated as they held the Teutons hitless while giving up just one walk. Taking the mound for Inman was Connor Brown and Kolton Lane.

Inman will return to the diamond on April 3, when Sedgwick comes to town for the Teutons 2018 home opener.
